Historic Site · Landmark
Often called Little Kyoto, Izushi Castle Town draws visitors with its nostalgic atmosphere and Izushi-soba, a specialty of the area containing buckwheat noodles served on small plates. The site features historical buildings from the Meiji Era, including a castle, a clock tower, and an old theater playhouse. The small but well-preserved castle sits on a hill encircled by sakura trees, offering views of the surrounding landscape. Climb the stone staircase farther up the hill to visit a Shinto shrine.
