#2 of 12 in Parks in Shozu-gun
Teshima Island is an island located in the Inland Sea of Japan, between Naoshima and Shōdoshima islands, and is part of Kagawa Prefecture. It has an area of 14.5km2 and a population of about 1,000 people.
Teshima is one of the locations of the Setouchi Triennale, also known as the Setouchi International Art Festival.
Teshima has been inhabited for 14,000 years.
The island was the subject of a scandal in which 600,000 tons of toxic waste were illegally dumped on the island. In 2000, after a 25-year legal battle, the waste was transported to Naoshima for processing.
The Teshima Art Museum opened on the island in 2010.

  • 3 years once in the sea season began to run, I was in Yuno Port by boat, built a bus at home in Pugang to the United States, take a roll, in the vicinity to take pictures and so on time to beautiful, eat very little, the season is very few people, the season soon, it is better to eat their own food, garbage to go away.

  • There were no supermarkets or convenience stores, but it was an island full of healing and warmth. They seem to procure food from people on the island. I've completely forgotten about the island that was once an illegal dumping problem, and it's full of wonderful nature. I went around by bicycle, but even if it is electric, the slope is quite hard! But it was a pleasant cycling. I want to go again. I'll definitely go! There are a lot of Tourists of European descent, and the local people run the shop at the pace of the local people, and i think that it is a place where time flows leisurely and is different from other sightseeing spots. It may be selfish, but there is no supermarket, no convenience store, and that's why it was good.
