The view point from the top is overgrown and you can barely see the falls. The view from the bottom is closed off so it cannot be accessed. The area seems to have been a nice location many years ago..... more »

You need to search for 賀老の滝 to find this on a map. The largest waterfall in Hokkaido this is a must visit. more »

2011年の夏に北海道旅行で訪れました。道南を回ることにしていたので、こちらの方で立ち寄ってみたい場所の１つでした。島牧から程近く，賀老の滝方面へ山深い道を１０分程走ると滝の入口があります。駐車場から歩いて5分程でしょうか。結構歩きやすいところですし、問題なしです。滝についた時は、結構な大きさに驚きましたね。道内では屈指の滝のようです。こちらの方面は中々来られる人は少ないように思いますが結構な穴場です。暫く、そこに居たい気分でした＾＾こちらに来られる時は、「弁慶岬」とセットが良いですね＾＾

I visited Hokkaido in the summer of 2011. I was supposed to go around the southern part of the road. It was one of the places I would like to stop by. It is close to Shimamaki, and it runs for about 10 minutes on a mountain deep road towards The Waterfall of The Old. There is a waterfall entrance. It's about five minutes' walk from the parking lot. It is a fairly easy place to walk, and there is no problem. When I arrived at the waterfall, I was surprised at the size. It seems to be one of the best waterfalls in Hokkaido. I think that there are few people who can come in this direction. It is a good hole. I felt like being there for a while. When you come here, the set with "Cape Benkei" is good.
