Sendai Mediatheque, Sendai

#11 of 244 in Things to do in Sendai
Futuristically designed and award winning, Sendai Mediatheque serves as both a major library and a significant architectural achievement. The building's architects used vertical tubes and huge glass walls to erase the boundary between the interior and exterior. The seven floors of this eye-catching structure house exhibit spaces, a theater, meeting rooms, administrative offices, a multimedia library, a cafe, and souvenir shop.
