Explore brick-lined tunnels, magazines, and ruins of a navy battery at Sarushima Island (Monkey Island), the only natural island in Tokyo Bay. You can take a hike in the island’s tranquil woods surrounded by sea, but unfortunately you wont' see any monkeys on the island. Reach the island by taking a 10-minute ferry ride, during which you can spot some warships and enjoy great views of Yokosuka and Yokohama. You can rent a barbecue set and cook on a small beach, but you'll need to bring your own food or fish for it yourself. Make sure you bring drinking water with you.     Short ferry ride over and it was mostly empty when we got here since the season is almost over. In couple days actually. Tomorrow the 19th there will be a special and a few voice actors will visit...  more »

    The island is accessible by boat from a contracted company. They do not speak a lot of English but money sure does. The fare is affordable and you can bring your own food and beach supplies. My kids.....  more »

    Nice place...blue water and sky...sandy and stone beach...have ancient historical importance...abandoned island.. You can enjoy BBQ, catching fish with rod and rope, play with the big birds, see a lot of seagull, hear the sounds of mysterious birds...
