  • This is a big park in the heart of central Sapporo. The park is a 20-minute walk from start to finish, as it is a park that runs from the East TV Tower to the Sapporo Museum. But it takes longer to walk. The reason for this is that there is a fountain in the middle, there is a flower garden, there are sculptures, and there are many things to see, so it's going to take some time to see. Many Japanese people sit in the park and spend some time relaxing, and many parents came with their children. The atmosphere of the park is so nice, located between the buildings and the forest in the clear air without fine dust. I used to have a cup of coffee here every time I passed by. If you have time, we recommend you sit back and relax in the park.

  • It is not 365 days, but it is used as a venue for some events (snow festival, Yosakoi festival, etc.) throughout the year. During the summer months, one of the largest beer gardens in Japan is held. I often see big pigeons in this park, probably because there is no shortage of food. Doves are charming, but crows are a little aggressive, so be careful. At the event of a street stand, crows are trying to steal your food.

  • The Sapporo ice festival was a great experience as the ice sculptures are well crafted and there are plenty of street food. There are buildings every now and then where you can warm yourself. A great trip even when it's cold outside!
  • During winter , Odori park is one of locations for Sapporo Snow Festival. If you are in Japan during this time do not even think to skip it! It is awesome! Lots and lots of non trivial snow sculptures, some times tall as 3-4 stories. Worth time and money. There are numerous places serving nice Japanese snack food (mostly hot) and drinks such as Hot Mojito - yes, it is hot as tea and taste really good.
