  • It is a sacred place to pray to the gods in Sapporo, the Kyoto is another temple and is freely accessible. It is located in the foothills of the mountain and has two accesses, the toriis is quite steep and ends in stairs. I would say that it is the output rather than input since on each torii on the one hand there are scriptures and on the other not. So it's to read them on the way out. The entrance to the temple is on the north side and it is preferable to get there by taxi. We visited it in autumn, just when the Arces change colors and it is very nice the peace and tranquility that is breathed there. There is a shop next door, where you can buy sentences written in wooden blocks with the shrine drawn on one side. Vending machines for drinks and hot coffee are also available. Do not forget before you pray, purify yourself in the spring next to the temple and dress well. In the bush it starts to get cold in the afternoons :)

  • A relative of the Fushimi Inari in Kyoto, this is like a mini version of it. There are still a lot of gates, but the trek to the top is not nearly as long. The shrine does not take long to get to as well. With the snow, I'd say it looks a bit more picturesque than the one in Kyoto. A short way from the center of the city and it's worth a visit.
  • A hidden gem in a quiet area. The place itself has very low number of people (or I was being lucky) and gave me a good feeling (and surely, this one is less popular than the other inari shrine) Being a shring mean there is only 3 things you can do easily, take photos, pray to the gods at the shrine (the correct way, of course), and get a fortune telling for 200, which also has multiple languages (japanese one is only 100, but able to fully understand the meaning is really great)
