  • This beautiful pond is called 'Sugo-no-ike', where have some blossom and skunk cabbage. It was stunning! Although it takes 60 min by bus and 15 min by foot from sakata station, it's worth seeing...  more »
  • The Count kawanoike is called "Sugo no Ike". I was on my way to Tamaki Falls in a pond in the mountains of Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture, and stopped by. Even if it is said in the mountains, the road on the way is a decent paved road, so there was no problem at all to go. Located at the southern foot of Mt. Toriumi, it is a man-made lake completed in 1912 as a reservoir for irrigation, and the surrounding area is about 1.3km. In the deepest place, it is a fairly large pond with 10 meters.
