At Numazu Deep Sea Aquarium, explore the mysterious creatures of the deep sea. In the first floor watch as biolumniscent fish, crustaceans, and molluscs glide through pitch-black tanks. The educational second floors displays exhibits of preserved fish and other creatures. See frozen and taxidermied examples species like the rare coelacanths, displayed as a centerpiece with extensive information. The info boards come in Japanese and English, and an English booklet is available on request. Note that you can take photographs, but without flash.   • The aquarium is quite small and only took an hour to walk round. The exhibits all focussed on the deep sea and were different and really interesting, especially the massive spider crabs.  more »
