Ryuokyo Canyon, Nikko

4.2
#7 of 30 in Nature in Nikko
Canyon · Nature / Park
Immerse yourself in nature in Ryuokyo Canyon, home of a meandering emerald-green river resembling a dragon. Hovering steel span bridges and suspended waterfalls make this 3 km long (2 mi) trek one to remember, especially for nature lovers. Somewhat difficult to navigate to from Nikko, this ravine contains striking blue-green water beneath wisteria trees and unmatched views of the canyon from the bridges. This medium-intensity hike on a well-maintained trail requires good footwear, and you should watch out for steep and slippery steps on rainy days. Make Ryuokyo Canyon part of your personalized Nikko itinerary using our Nikko trip itinerary planning website.
