Trip Planner: Asia / Japan / Chubu / Tokai / Gifu Prefecture / Nakatsugawa / Nakasendo Magome Walking Trail
Nakasendo Magome Walking Trail gives you a view of a town from the distant past, transporting you back to Edo-period Japan. The 43rd of 69 stations on the Nakasendō, this postal town was prosperous and cosmopolitan for many years until the Chūō Main Line was opened, and it fell into obscurity. Having been restored to its former glory, you can view restored antiquated buildings along the main post road, peppered with inns and shops that would service the travelers on the Nakasendō. At the upper end of the town, you can enjoy panoramic views across the hills to Mt. Ena, and if you fancy a hike, you can walk along the post road to the next town, which takes you past waterfalls and through forests. Nakasendo Magome Walking Trail Reviews
三連休なので、とても混んでいました。 駐車場は、無料なところがあります。 石畳で雰囲気よくて、おススメです。 more »It was a three-day holiday, so it was very crowded. Parking is free. The atmosphere is good in the cobblestone, and it is recommended.
車で訪問の場合は、どこに停めるかをよく考えた方がよさそう（下り坂と登坂のバランスを考えて... more »It is a steep hill located about 8 km away from Tsuhimago-juku. On the way, we crossed the pass at an altitude of 800m. The mountain path was also twisted and the driving was hard. The street of the inn was paved with cobblestones, and I was tired when I walked around with a dog in a buggy. Moreover, because it is a steep slope, it is very hard to climb, and healthy legs are necessary. It is the land where Shimazaki Fujimura was born. If you are visiting by car, it is better to think carefully about where to park (consider the balance between downhill and uphill) and choose a location. There were many foreign tourists.
