Next to a traditional village consisting of around 250 homes you will find Bise no Fukugi Tree Road, an exotic escape that relieves both heat and stress. Tread on the soft sandy path as a lush fukugi canopy blocks the sunlight, and distant ocean waves break against the shore. Observe the old fishers' homes, complete with traditional shoji doors and tatami matted flooring, which have utilized the surrounding trees to protect them from the typhoon season. • If you go nearby, you will find a sign for a paid parking lot, but if you go to the very end, you will find free parking. From there, we walked slowly. What surprised me the most was that there was a private house standing along this tree line, and it actually lived there. Every day, because the tourists are walking, I guess that it is not settled. There is also the option of going out along the trees and returning along the coast. The sea in Okinawa is really beautiful and healing.

  • A must visit. Nice to bike around. The route will bring you to local community then to the beach. Good family activity.
  • This is a cute village with plenty of adorable alleys to take your Instagram pics. Many of the walkways are sand or gravel and lead to restaurants or cafes along the sea wall. You have the option to ride bikes around the village or even take a cart pulled by an ox. The pin takes you to a random spot in the midst of all the alleyways.
