There are many Toshogu shrines in Japan dedicated to Tokugawa ieyasu, this one is not so famous, but the gate is beautifully done and worth a visit in the center of the city. more »

It's a small shrine with a pretty golden gate. There are several events throughout the year. If you visit Mito, I recommend taking a look, is very close to the station.

水戸駅に近く、車でいかれる方は、鳥居をくぐって道なりに進むと上に駐車場がありました。階段を上がると、社殿が見えて拝殿前には、黒塗りの門には、金色の葵の紋があり、そこを入ると、天井には梅の花と鶯谷が、赤と白で描かれていた。御朱印は、とても素晴らしかったです。

Mito station, taken by car through the gate and follow the road around onto the parking lot. See the shrine and go up the stairs in front of Hollyhock Golden and black-painted gate, get out there and on the ceiling was painted in red and white plum and Nightingale Valley. Nokyo-Sho is very nice.
