Mikasa City Museum (三笠市立博物館, Mikasa-shi Hakubutsukan) opened in Mikasa, Hokkaidō, Japan in 1979. Mikasa city museum. Old coal mining town. Has interesting artifacts from coal mining heyday, features collection of large fossil ammonites which makes this a must for the fossil buff. Walking trail behind museum leads to track to the open-air section consisting of coal mine and geozones.

The eyeball exhibits are fossil of the Dragon skull of the Mikasa (not a dinosaur but a large lizard). Plenty of ammonite fossils. There are also exhibits related to mine, insect specimens and stuffed animals. I think that it is good when there is a souvenir shop and a stall of the station class of a big road a little, and a souvenir purchase. I think that it will become a quite good museum if the lid is devised 、、。See original
