  • Photography is permitted only in the outer gardens and not within the main hall of the temple itself. Undoubtedly, Zuiganji is the main crown jewel of all the buildings in Matsushima. Tickets need to....  more »
  • I was there in the morning and it was already attracting tourists. There are three temple/shrines next to each other, one closed to the public. The is so much more going on also, caves, cemeteries...  more »
  • A very pleasant temple. Serene building and ornate carvings and paintings. An easy walk from Matsushima station. Some other interesting sights nearby.
  • The building is well maintained with a lot of details to see. I would recommend people to stroll slowly to absorb the atmosphere. Entrance fee is 700 yen. No photo is allowed inside the main building.
