Known for its iconic dark exterior, Matsue Castle represents one of only a dozen medieval castles remaining in the country. The castle's key feature, the main tower survived natural disasters and demolitions since the wooden structure was completed in 1611. View the castle walls, built to withstand war, tour the main keep, or take a riverboat cruise along the building's moat. • Every time I go to Matsue, I visit. It seems that the number of tourists has increased since it became a national treasure, but apart from its popularity, there is an impression of a castle with dignity, including around the castle. Mr. Matsudaira, who served as the castle owner for the longest time, has also been introduced, including the Duke, but in front of the gate of the castle is a statue of Yoshiharu Horio, who was involved in the castle.

  • One of the most recently designated national treasures five celestial guardians. It has a wonderful tower and a magnificent tower so as to wonder why it was not designated a national treasure. It is interesting to know why the castle was not designated as a national treasure and why it was designated as a national treasure, and it is interesting to have a different way of enjoying it than the castle with other national treasure guardians.

  • The price for what you get is fantastic. This is one of the few places where I read most of the boards displaying historic and educational information and enjoyed them. The surrounding area is also filled with interesting sights and the town itself was also surprisingly nice; I actually wished I had decided to spend a night there.
  • One of the twelve original castles. It is very well preserved and great place to visit if you are in Matsue. The stairs inside are quite steep and difficult to climb, so be ready for it if you planned to visit. There is a small museum near the castle which provides traditional Japanese snacks at a low cost, which makes the visit even better!
