  • Apart from being prohibited from taking Photos and having to take your shoes off on pain of ..... , the whole experiences was surreal The mystical inspiring properties were lost on me - I just dont.....  more »
  • An outstanding temple with wide open spaces and, no so many visitors. Easy access and definitely worth an hours look. Large store adjoining fir souveniers and associated books, incense etc  more »

  • Immense. Right in the heart of the city, near the station. Not very busy. Easy to explore at your own pace. Should take off shoes before stepping onto the wooden stairs.
  • This is one of the biggest temple in Japan, and it is pretty close to Kyoto station. Don't miss the Main Hall, the Daisho-in Hall and the majestic Karamon gate with beautiful carvings. It is a Unesco World Heritage Site, and not to be missed!
