  • Shinto shrine dedicated to the deity of rice harvests has 10,000 gates to pass through, each a gift to the deity (with a donation of course). Great photo opportunity and not a far walk from the train ...  more »
  • Visit Fushimi Inari Taisha Main Hall, exit Schimoto Torii, and go to Okusha Shrine. It passed through torii again from there. It was mitsutsuji and yotsutsuji, and there was a person who was doing the climbing mountain guidance, and it was taught that it was easier to climb counterclockwise though it was this ceremony to climb clockwise from the four tsuji. If you do not plan to climb the mountain here, you can go down another road and return to the main shrine. It seems that a lot of tourists came to come like this in the last five years or so, and it was a mountain of quiet training before. We continued to climb, buywater and rest at the shop on the way, and arrived at the top of the top. I was able to climb even if I don't usually exercise, so please challenge everyone. However, I think that it is a little difficult for small children and the elderly person.

  • I highly encourage everyone to walk to the top of the mountain through the bamboo grove instead of the main path to avoid the crowds and enjoy a quite and peaceful walk. Best time to visit the shrines is early in the morning; otherwise, it gets too busy.
  • Is totally worth to go all the way up!!! But more for the trip than for the last shrine. It was raining on the day I went so I can’t say anything about the view at the top. Just enjoy the walk and all the “floors”. Good cardio :)
