Take in views of the rolling verdant hills from Nokogiriyama Nihonji Tenbodai, a lookout point high in a mountain park dotted with Buddhist sculpture. Be prepared for the climb, which consists of many steps, and takes around 45 minutes each way. Alternatively, opt to take the mountain's ropeway to the peak. From the top, you'll be able to view the hills, town, and bay far below from a dramatic viewing point, with railings for peace of mind. Look out for the notable temple and sculptures along the way, dating back to 725 CE, and bring along a picnic and plenty of water for the journey.
