Take in the geothermal features of Sainokawara Park, a valley boasting several hot springs and a large outdoor bath of naturally warmed water. Locals have long mythologized the mysterious, evocative landscape of the valley, as evidenced by the number of statues and monuments dotting the area. Hike between the main hot springs to see the water bubbling to the surface, breaking out to form warm streams, and flowing down into a cascading waterfall. Take a dip in the main pools, separated by gender and each able to fit 100 bathers. PutSainokawara Park into our Kusatsu-machi journey planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.
