Beautifully presented museum and a great place to get some insight into carpentry and the building of wood and bamboo structures across the centuries. Clearly some interest in the subject helps... more »
Amazing to learn about the various joints used instead of nails. Had fun trying to assemble or take apart the various types of joints. There is a pleasant scent of wood and touching some of them added another dimension to the experience. An eye opener into traditional Japanese architecture. The building itself is a piece of art!
We loved it. Very interesting, free audio tour guide and amazing artifacts and techniques.very well displayed although sometimes its a bit hard to keep track of the audio tour. You can spend 2-3 hours if you go over everything, otherwise 1.5 would be enough (skipping some parts).
