Mizuochi Falls, Iriomote-jima

#8 of 11 in Nature in Iriomote-jima
Waterfall · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Tucked away in a mangrove, Mizuochi Falls are formed by the short Mizuuchi River suddenly dropping down the several layers of sedimentary rocks. The falls cannot be reached from the land but only from the sea, so you will need to take a chartered boat or rent a canoe. The best time to visit the falls is during the summer, when you can take a refreshing dip under the picturesque cascades. Plan a trip to Iriomote-jima easily and quickly by telling Inspirock to suggest an itinerary.

  • The only way to see the waterfall is to take a tour of the funauki area or go by canoe. It is almost difficult on its own because it is a distant relation from the port in the place where there is no road. However, the beauty of this waterfall is not conveyed in the photograph, so please take a tour and see it at once.
