The Museum Meiji-mura, Inuyama

4.4
Admire the collection of architectural works at The Museum Meiji-mura, an open air museum showcasing Japanese building design from the time the country opened up after centuries of isolation. See the contrast in styles and utility between designs from the Meiji, Taisho, and early Showa periods, noticing the increased influence of Western styles alongside traditional Japanese motifs. More than 60 historical buildings sit on this sprawling site, including places of worship, a post office, and the reconstructed lobby and entrance from Frank Lloyd Wright's Imperial Hotel. • It's surprisingly far from Inuyama Station. One way by bus is 430 yen. Moving around the park is not as hard as I thought. It's fun to ride SL or Kyoto Tram, but both have very short distances. The bus is a classic car. The main purpose is the former Imperial Hotel, which is wonderful. If I go back to Tokyo again and start business, I don't see many foreign-affiliated hotels、、、。 There are many other attractive buildings with a history, but they are scattered and empty and consistent. I think that it is wonderful if the townscape is reproduced overall. One now.

  • If you hold a meitetsu credit card, there is a specific season in which up to five people can enter with one coin, and it is very advantageous, so often enter the park (village?). To be. This time, there is also a thing called the last weekend before the consumption tax goes up, and I reserved sukiyaki of Oi beef restaurant for lunch a little luxuriously. On the day, the residual heat was severe, and the beef pot surrounding the seven wheels in the dining room without air conditioning in the setting of the Meiji era sweated a lot, but by the time I drank the iced tea at the coffee shop of the old Imperial Hotel on the way back home, the heat eased, and I was able to enjoy Meiji village in autumn. Only the parking lot is the setting of cash only and Showa anachronism, or rather as soon as I felt the thought of the railway company

  • The park locate in a great location. The nature is very nice. Amazing setting. Most buildings are fully furnished. Restaurants served good food, no overpriced. I recommend you to choices first then go go go.
  • Great place for adults and children alike. Good variety of architecture. The steam locomotive, streetcar, and bus are all options for travel within the park, and if you think you will use it many times, you should consider getting the unlimited ride pass.
