Ine no Funaya, Ine-cho

#1 of 10 in Things to do in Ine-cho
Tightly packed traditional boathouse guesthouses of Ine no Funaya provide a tranquil off-the-beaten track spot to stay. Sheltered in a bay, the picturesque wooden facades, seagulls, and sea breezes give you the experience of life along the shore. Fishing is good here, especially for octopuses. Old-fashioned homecooked meals are part of the slow food experience here, and you can watch fishermen sort the day's catch or wind-dry it. This traditional Japanese accommodation amidst private residences makes boathouse reservations a must. Try a local fishing boat tour while you're here to round out the experience. Put Ine no Funaya into our Ine-cho trip maker website and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • It is a scenery like no other as it is lined up around Ine Bay. To enjoy this scenery, it is must be seen from the sea. There are also sightseeing boats that can be used by a large number of people, but we recommend a sea taxi that allows local fishermen to take a tour of Ine Bay while taking a guide on their own boats. At Kameshimamaru, where I got on, he put it on his home boat house and showed me around indoors.

  • I parked my car in the paid parking lot and enjoyed the view from there. The scenery that cannot be easily seen, and a valuable scenery only here was wonderful.
