Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, Hyogo Prefecture

4.6
An astounding feat of engineering, Akashi Kaikyo Bridge holds the title of the longest suspension bridge in the world, spanning an incredible 3.9 km (2.4 mi). The product of 2 million workers and 10 years of work, the bridge was completed in 1998, using enough steel cable to circumnavigate the globe a mind-boggling seven times. On the Kobe side of the bridge, consider stopping by the Bridge Exhibition Center for extensive and well-presented information about the structure's design and construction. If you're feeling somewhat brave, take an elevator to the "Maiko Marine Promenade," affording views from 50 m (164 ft) up, below the main platform of the bridge. You can take a far more in-depth guided tour of the bridge if you're a real enthusiast, but bear in mind that this requires an advanced reservation. • If you look again, it is a very beautiful curved bridge. The landscape is also considered, there is no ugliness. When I saw this bridge on my school trip, I wanted to work on the map, so I understood the feelings of an acquaintance who studied hard and joined a major general contractor.

  • To cross from Honshu to Shikoku, cross a bridge or by boat. In many cases it would be a bridge. Then, why do you cross the bridge? It's a car or a train. When you cross by train, you will inevitably see the scenery sideways from the car window, because the railway line runs under the bridge, but in the case of the car, you can cross while looking at the whole picture of the bridge and the view of the islands. Both are good, but Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is a car bridge. Night buses from Nagoya and Tokyo also cross here. It does not get off because it is early morning near the middle of the night though the night bus stops for the driver rest and the time adjustment in Awaji SA though it has crossed by the bus up to now. You can't even see the bridge from the bus, so if you drive yourself or cross with it, the wire stretched like the strings of the harp is also beautiful. Because it is a bridge with a considerable distance, you can enjoy traveling plenty. There is also a road station that you can see over the bridge if you go to Awaji Island in a short distance, so you can stop by and take a look at the bridge.

  • You can enter the bridge and see a magnificent works of art from a truss bridge. Also, they provide food and beverages for you to buy inside
  • I am very impressed by the size of this bridge. It is so big that you have to see it in person to believe that it exists. Very nice.
