Both were inbound with high antennas. First, the valley course. I arrived earlier than planned, but because there was a cancellation, I was able to participate in the early flight. Because it is with an assist, I think that anyone can experience it comfortably. In the iron bridge that crosses the mountain stream, you can see the front, back, left, top, down, and up, right, and everything, so I thought it was wonderful during the fall foliage season. On the way, if you look closely, there is a railroad crossing and you take a picture. At the end of the temporary station of the Nitsuya Tunnel at the turning point, the track and the tunnel were still going! The town course. There were points and branches of the railway line, and the tunnel was interesting. On the way, you will pass by the old abandoned station while looking at the side of the private house and the walking path. It is a strange feeling. At Tsuruoka Minemae Station, a return station, there was spring water, and an explanation panel of mines and Sabo was installed, and the characteristics of the topography were well understood. It seems to have been a real station here, too. Both are recommended.
高山市の古い町並みから、車で約1時間走ったところにあります。カーナビを使えばまず行かれます。出入口がちょっとわかりにくいのでご注意を。初めてですが、スリルのある渓谷コースを選択しました。廃線となった線路を利用しており、列車と同じで、漆山駅を定刻に団体で出発します。先頭と最後尾は自転車ではなくバイクでスタッフが監視してくれます。その間を大体20mごとに出発します。自転車2台を板の両端に接続したような... more »It is a place which ran from the old town in Takayama city by car for about one hour. If you use a car navigation system, you will be gone first. Please note that the entrance is a little confusing. For the first time, I chose a thrilling valley course. It uses the railway line which became a ruined line, and it leaves urushiyama station on time by the group in the same as the train. The staff watches the top and tail by the motorcycle, not the bicycle. In the meantime, we leave about every 20 meters. It is feeling like running on the rail by the structure that two bicycles are connected to both ends of the board (it is actually different), but the steering wheel operation is not needed. If you follow, move forward. The brakes are only behind, but they work well. When you are running on the rail, you can hear the sound of gattan, gattan, and goton at the joint of the rail. It's as if you're running on a train and running on a rail. One-sided...
Tried the B City Course. Went from Takayama Nohi Bus Center. Quite far, takes about 1h45m to get here. But thr scenery along the way is charming. Thr Rail Bike itself was very nice and staff spoke limited English but were helpful and friendly. The scenery during the ride was very nice and quaint. The way back was quite tedious because it was uphill, but if you're healthy it shouldn't be a problem. Worth to try at least once. Might try the Canyon Course next time.
If you are looking for a fun outdoor activity with gorgeous views of Gifu's countryside, this is an absolute must! Bikes are mounted on frames and are ridden down railroad tracks. The railroad tracks are no longer in use and are safe. The mountain bikes have battery assisted motors but you will still have to pedal. For those pedaling the bikes as long as you have no existing injuries or breathing problems you should be fine. You get to see AMAZING views of the surrounding area in a way you can't see by car/foot.
