Senjokaku, Hatsukaichi

Take in the aging and evocative structure of Senjokaku, roughly the size of 1,000 tatami mats. Commissioned in 1587 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi (one of the three unifiers of Japan), for the purpose of chanting Buddhist sutras to the fallen heroes of war, the building was incomplete when its commissioner passed away, and remains in a sparse state to this day. Though unfinished and lacking a proper entrance, it remains unspoiled, featuring original artworks and decorations on the ceilings and walls. • Toyokuni Shrine (Sentamikaku) is located alongside a five-story pagoda in the corner of oka, a small tower located on the east side of Itsukushima Shrine. Due to Hideyoshi's death, construction was canceled on the way, leaving the unfinished state with no board walls or ceiling plates. It is the Daikeido hall where Toyotomi Hideyoshi ordered it to be built, and it is also called sentamikaku because it is 857 tatami mats in size. There are few ornaments in the hall, so I felt it was even more wide. The floor was shiny and the trees around it were reflected on the floor and it was beautiful. You may see maples on the floor in autumn. In addition, it is a recommended point that the scenery is good because it is on a hill.

  • World Heritage Site and Three Views of Japan... So, Miyajima is always full of people by all means. However, it is an unexpected hole, and it is possible to spend it leisurely even though it is not far from the center of sightseeing so much. It is said that it is a thousand tatami pavilions, but it is said that it is a little prosperous expression, and in fact, it is less than 100 tatami mats.
