Hakodate Horse Racetrack is the longest horse track in Japan, extremely popular during the summer season. Boasting a turf course and a dirt course, this historic track was built in 1896 and renovated in 2010, when a Diamond Vision Screen was installed as part of the refurbishment. If you bring a blanket, you can picnic on the grassy area between the grandstand and the tracks. For additional excitement, pick your favorite horse and place a bet or two.
