This is an open air museum of old houses in Japan moved to this location. What I like about this place is that they try to make it "living" by having people doing handicraft and small restaurants... more »
I had an amazing experience, the volunteers and people working were extremely nice. The Shimasen show was my first experience with the instrument, and I am in love with it now. And the artists were so nice too. The man making traditional shoes at one of the houses makes amazing miniature shoes that blew my mind, and the artist that teaches how to make ceramics at the workshop is a true master. I even loved the view on my way here.
Nice place to see the old style farm houses if you don't have time to go all the way up to Shirakawago. The little restaurant in the park also sells some nice typical Japanese desserts and fresh juices! Nice experience.
