Daisetsuzan National Park

5
The largest national park in the country, Daisetsuzan National Park showcases the terrain and natural features of Hokkaido's mountainous central region. Established in 1934, the park includes 16 peaks that reach an elevation of over 2,000 m (6,600 ft), and a number of popular walking routes. Filled with Jezo spruce trees, the park also has a reputation as the home of a population of brown bears. Largely unspoiled by development, the area's scenic appeal is nicely complemented by a number of onsen (traditional Japanese spa) towns, which make use of the naturally warmed water coming from the hot springs. Daisetsuzan National Park is in Hokkaido. Plan the details of your Daisetsuzan National Park holiday and any onward adventuring with our easy-to-use Japan trip itinerary site .
