Stop for a moment of reflection at Port of Kobe Earthquake Memorial Park, a small but poignant and evocative reminder of nature's incredible power. In the city closest to the epicenter of the violent earthquake, witness the preserved, cracked, and jolted promenade sloping into the river, with lampposts pointing at bizarre angles from the water. Examine the photographic displays and information boards, which paint a picture of the scene at the time of the devastating earthquake. The site offers plenty of information in English. • This place is to remind of us how terrible the earthquake was in 1995. Almost more than 20 years ago it happened here. The park is nicely presented to people who are visiting here. It could be nothing but somehow Japanese made this place special to remember it or to record and show how terrible it was for the next generation. If I didn’t come here and see it in my own eyes I would never know how terrible the earthquake is and how powerful it is to destroy everything.
  • The debris left over from the earthquake really remind you of how terrifying the earthquake was. The exhibits are also nicely placed and the video and display are nicely done.
