    in route from Fukuoka to Nagasaki - as much hype was about the ceramic industry of the region - we stopped at the FREE ENTRANCE museum. The display is nice, well recorded, much info - also in English.  more »

    It is a must-see in Arita. If you are interested in porcelain, it merits to travel to Arita just to visit this museum. To visit a temporary exhibit, you have to buy a ticket. But otherwise, the...  more »

    A picturesque museum at the top of a hill, the Kyushu Ceramic Museum offers 5 rooms of exhibits to learn about regional ceramic history. The first 3 rooms are paid entry, about 300 JPY for 1 adult. The other 2 are free, permanent exhibits. The museum surrounds a nice interior court with a garden. I recommend this for any aspiring artists and those interested in history.
