  • A wonderful experience! Before you enter, you walk through a peaceful garden. This clears your mind and puts you in a relaxed state before you enter the museum. In the entryway, you can watch a video about Shiko Munakata. It's all in Japanese but you will still enjoy it even if you don't understand what's being said. You can watch the incredible energy that he brings to every print. The gallery itself is small, but Munakata wanted it this way so everyone can take their time viewing every work of art. They have seats so you can study the larger paintings from a distance. I spent about an hour here but you can easily spend more. There is also a great cafe and bakery across the street to go for lunch. I think this is one of Aomori's finest museums! A must see if you visit Aomori City!
  • Internationally in the modern Japan's first artist, Munakata Shiko Memorial Museum. Exhibition room has become a small museum on the floor. Little, gathering materials and works, commentary, exhibitions and the spectacular. From the audience in front of the reception and showing documentary footage on the Munakata Shiko and watching this, his life and understand its achievements so looking forward to the exhibition rooms is recommended. Is holding the source that were destroyed by the fires and cannot be easily seen in other valuable works. Founders Board Shiko, stated "woodblock prints includes that character also has explained, there are interesting.
