  • This is such a fun place. Thoroughly professional and amazingly personal and friendy. Every mail was replied to in detail making sure that the experience was excellent fromthe very interaction. Had a wonderful time diving with them. The dives were excellent, especially the Cavoli island and S.Catrina reef. Made many friends here, over beer at the bar attached to the dive centre. Valeria, my instructor for the Advanced OW and Angelo helped me with scuba review were excellent. Highly recommend Subaqua if you are planning to dive in south Sardinia at Villasimius.
  • If you are new to diving, especially if you don't speak Italian, absolutely do not go here. My partner, who was going for an intro dive, has been scarred for life because of her experience here. Problems we encountered: * Contradictory explanations as to the plan - we were told by some staff that there would be a second trip out on the boat so my partner was left behind initially, thinking we would be back in an hour or so. Only by luck I happened to come back and got told by a different staff member that we should go on the boat together. She could have been told this at any time by the staff. * She was given little information before the dive, which I had to pry out of her instructor because I knew it would be important. She was concerned about a number of things she should have had explained long before we set off, such as how they would enter the water. * She was not listened to by her instructor, who didn't believe her when she said water kept getting in her goggles. Her instructor spoke sufficient English for this not just to be a miscommunication. * Likewise, he did not adequately explain how to use the respirator. * Likewise, she was not provided any weight belt, despite finding it hard to go under the surface of the very saline water. * After struggling with this, and being told to 'tell him when she's ready' before going under, she was immediately ducked under the water by her instructor without warning. * Ultimately, she only spent about a minute under the surface of the water. * She almost got hypothermia, and was uncontrollably shivering on the boat trip back. She was given a short cut wet suit, whilst everyone else was given at least a full wet suit (I was given a semi-dry suit). She was only on the surface of the water for about 20 minutes. * Despite obviously shivering uncontrollably on the way back, there was little sympathy from the staff until I kept pointing it out. She was given a thermal jacket after this at least... So compared to the experience I had hoped for, with her encountering a new sport she would find both relaxing and beautiful; going for an intro dive seemed to be begrudgingly accepted by the dive centre and my partner was treated as just a tag along on this trip. In a different vein, waves seemed dangerously high on the return journey. Whilst this is beyond the control of the centre, I question whether we should have gone ahead with the trip.
