Mercati di Rialto stands in the commercial center of the city, with views of the bridge of the same name as well as the Grand Canal. With fruit, fish, and vegetables featured prominently, you'd be challenged to find a better market to wander through in Venice. You can go here before any other attraction, as this opens before anything else in the city. Visitors with kitchen access may want to make daily visits. • Apparently, the market is nowhere near as bustling as it used to be, but that makes it kind of nice. EVERYTHING IS SUPER FRESH! My only wish was a kitchen to cook in, but I was on vacation. Lots of interesting sights and sounds. Beware of the seagulls. They're strong and always hungry!
  • We had a lot of fun walking around the market. We ended up buying some sun-dried tomatoes and some Pancetta to take home. If you like markets - this is definitely recommended!
