  • Early Mass on Thursday, the Campo as an oasis of silence and prayer next to St. Peter's Basilica that seems to be preparing for the tourists. A must for German-speaking pilgrims, a better start to the day is not conceivable

  • Here you only get admission if you address the Swiss Guardsas. No one wanted to see an ID. Beautiful, if very small, cemetery. Here you can briefly enjoy peace and quiet and go into yourself.

  • Impressive, yes, however somewhat intimidating...
  • Supposedly only persons descendant from the Teutonic people can be buried here (ie: Flemish, Dutch, German, etc). For ages it was a burial site for Princes, Aristocrats or Priests, until 2015 when Pope Francis allowed the burial of a beggar.
