At the moment, with Covid-19 restrictions, this museum admits 30 people/hour. Unless you book in advance, it will almost be impossible to get a spot. You can still visit the ruins in the garden. more »

Only 3 of the 6 galleries were open on the day we visited, but even so there was more than enough to give you a fascinating glimpse into the long and complicated history of this part of Sicily. My... more »

An amazing museum with a huge collection of fantastic archeological artifacts. The exhibit explanations are in Italian and English! I'd give the museum 5 stars but our experience was nearly ruined by the lack of climate control. None of the many air conditioning units were functioning. Sicily is hot in August, and it was even hotter in the museum.

This is the best archaeological museum I have ever visited! I would encourage people to get the €13.50 combined ticket for the Archaeological Park and the museum (valid for 3 days and I purchased mine at the park) as they tie in rather nicely and you save yourself some dosh. The number of artefacts housed in the museum is astounding - it must have taken Indiana Jones years to collect it all! A lot of information to take in and all the plaques are in English as well as Italian. My only regret - I didnt have enough time to finish it in one day. Going back tomorrow hopefully.
