  • The chapel of Our Lady of Loreto has a particular artistic interest for the elegance of its Renaissance architecture and for its extensive decorative equipment exterior and interior. Some of these decorations are the work of Gaudenzio Ferrari performed between 1514 and 1521. At the beginning of the 15th century, an elegant loggia of Renaissance style was added to the first rustic construction of the chapel (15th century): it is assumed that the architect may have been the same Gaudenzio Ferrari, engaged in those years in the works at the Sacred Mount of Varallo. In the bezel above the front door we find a first work by Gaudenzio Ferrari: it is a Nativity with Giuseppe and Maria. Around the bezel – partially recovered from the restorations – we find an Assumption with Angels and the twelve Apostles works of painters of the Novarese. Inside the chapel we find, frescoed on the vault, beautiful figures of Angels, in close affinity with the style of the painter of Valduggia. On the walls other scenes of the Life of the Virgin, performed in 1542 by Julius Caesar Luini. Above the altar we find the most evocative work of the chapel, due to the hand of the Ferrari, it is the figures, executed freshly, an announcement Angel and a humble Virgin announced; among them is the statue of a Madonna of Milk, in polychrome terracotta.

  • On the road that leads to Varallo Sesia there is a small chapel of the SIXTEENTH century of elegant structure with a perimeter portico supported by slender columns that allowed the protection of the precious frescoes some of which were made by Gaudenzio Ferrari between the 1514 and 1521.
