Designated as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ravenna, Teodorico Mausoleum was built by Theoderic the Great in 520 CE as his future resting place. After a military defeat, his bones were scattered, and the mausoleum was converted into the church of Sta. Maria della Rotonda. The floor floor is a decagon. The upper floor is a circle crowned by a dome 11 m (36 ft) in diameter made of limestone from Istria. The facade and portico were rebuilt in the 16th century. • Extraordinary skillful construction. They certainly knew how to build in those days. A remarkable building.
  • Very well preserved building from 520 AD, out of the city center. In fact, there is nothing special inside, but it is about that feeling, to visit the place built 1500 years ago.
