Ponte Coperto, Pavia

4.3
Since Roman times, a bridge has stood over the Ticino river at this spot--Ponte Coperto itself was built in 1949 when Allied bombing destroyed the previous one, dating from 1354. Today, the covered brick and stone arch bridge is a great place to take in the sights of Pavia away from the crowds. A chapel stands on the bridge, just as it has since medieval times. • The bridge joins Pavia let's say from the center along new road course towards the piece of Pavia called in the Burg dialect at low, unfortunately the subject of the exit of the Ticino river, the bridge was rebuilt after the bombing of the 2nd World War.

  • cute bridge but held not very well. in the area a nice park that deserves much more for young people, some places a little scruffy and dirty. In a nutshell, a beautiful area that deserves improvement.

  • ‘Covered against rain when it’s raining, sun when it’s too hot. Helps me get across the river. Excellent bridge, would walk across it again. 5 stars’ [cit.]
  • I was in Italy for a portion of my summer vacation! I had a wonderful time. This place was very nice at night.
