Duomo di Orvieto Reviews

The Duomo stands out in the city skyline, visible miles away and recalls its beauty and the cliff that hosts it. The Duomo stuns with its magnificence when you approach it from the narrow streets of the city and when the tourist sees it in its entire grace and beauty, like a flower that emerges in a stone garden. Magnificent, unmissable! I don't get tired of admiring it every time I go to Orvieto.

Inside the chapel of San Brizio, decorated by the Blessed Angelico and Benozzo Gozzoli, as well as the chapel of the Corporals, also magnificently decorated, where is the reliquary of the body, reminiscent of the facade of the cathedral. This beautiful Gothic cathedral is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It is a magnificent building dominating the skyline of Orvieto. The front facade is gloriously decorated with intricate golden mozaic. I just have to say I admired this cathedral so deeply and wondering how a small town like Orvieto has such a grand cathedral. The answer: five Popes had resided in this town.
This is the Central point of this lovely town and should not be missed. The beautiful stain glassed windows are amazing and the ornate facade glows when the sunlight falls on it. A must see!
