  • A building that testifies to the historic relationship between the city and the Knights Gerosolimitani of Malta. It is what remains of the great pre-existing church to the 1908 earthquake, precisely the former apse repurposed as a new temple. Also dedicated to San Placido, a Mexican martyr together with his brothers, is the place near which, in the sixteenth century, the supposed lybes of the martyrs would have been found. It houses a silver museum. The most important part of the building is the rear facade: a beautiful example of 16th-century composition.
