Castello di San Nicola de Thoro-Plano, Maiori

Lots of walking and steps to reach the castle but an enthusiastic old caretaker showed us around part of the castle in very broken English and then we were able to look round the rest. Much is ruins but some has been restored to give a feeling of how it must have looked originally. Great if you love castles and history.

Such a lovely place, although we didn't speak much Italian, and the guide didn't speak much English, he was so enthusiastic in telling us everything about the castle which we were able to understand. A very long walk up the steps to the castle, but so rewarding when you get there. Absolutely beautiful views and would do the walk a million times over to see the place again!
