  • Love the simple lift here. its a short hop from the main land so gives you the option to experience island life even just for a few days. Climb the vulcano, hire a buggy to explore the island end...  more »

  • Vulcano Island is definitely worth a visit as a day trip from the mainland. Our main trip was for the mudbaths. The smell is strong and does stay with you for days! Do not wear any silver. Even after showering and putting on my bracelet it was discolored. The mud baths are definitely a 12+ activity as the water in places can be scalding for the feet. Children younger can go in but I do not recommend it. There are lockers but falling apart so I just kept my bags with me. Shower facilities and change rooms are fine. The beach we went to close to the city was great and had a geyser which our boys loved. Book your ticket with liberty lines directly online to avoid lineups. We spent in total about 5 hours but you could spend longer if you went for a hike and rented a jeep for touring around the island.
  • We went to the mud bath and it wasn't so bad but it was not hot ss I expected it to be. It was around 25° to 30° Celsius in the places without the volcano bubble and in the places where the bubble are maybe up to 100° Celsius but when you just sit beside it it will be perfect. Also there is the volcano smell I like but you shouldn't inhale too much of, it might make you feel dizzy. There was also an entrance to the sea and it was really cold there but when you reach the place where the bubbles are, it is just perfect there.
