  • The interior, with a single rectangular nave decorated with sumptuous stuccoes, houses a marble main altar on which is placed the canvas of Luca Giordano depicting the Madonna of the Purità between St. Joseph and St. Francis of Assisi. The nave is completely covered by eighteenth-century paintings on canvas attributed to Oronzo Letizia and for the most part to the Murese Liborio Riccio. Of the Hedgehog are the multiplication of loaves and fishes on the counter-façade and the four biblical scenes (Cain and Abel, Adam and Eve, Moses, David and Goliath) on the side walls. On the vault there are paintings depicting scenes from the apocalypse. Interesting are the wooden stalls with polychrome decoration of the EIGHTEENTH century and the nineteenth-century majolica floor. In the church is preserved the statue of Our Lady of Mercy, the first half of 800, popularly known as the desolate, brought in procession on the morning of the Holy Saturday with the statue of the Dead Christ. Other statues are those eighteenth-century Madonna del Canneto and Santa Maria della Purità, in Wood, and Santa Cristina (1866), papier-mache.
