Cividale del Friuli - UNESCO World Heritage Centre, a little town with a medieval center, lies 15 km (9 mi) from Udine. Here you’ll find the town’s own archaeological museum on the Piazza del Duomo, as well as the 16th-cenutry Palazzo dei Provveditori. Additional sites of note include the Devil’s Bridge, with 15th-century origins, and the Celtic Hypogeum, a series of underground halls.   • Spent a few days here and this well maintained and attractive town certainly deserves the Unesco World Heritage award. Worth a visit if you are in the Udine area but not a fortune to do.  more »
