  • This offers a good value and interesting afternoon activity. The guided tour of the mine is exciting giving you a feel for what it was like to work there as well as showing you the minerals in the rocks. The audio guide is fine for English speakers. The train ride which follows is a novelty. It would be better if there was also an audio guide in English for this. The walking tour of the castle is only suitable for people who are able to walk a reasonable distance up hill in the heat. However it is very interesting and the guide was very accommodating in answering questions we had. The signage on the site is good quality and in English as well as Italian. There is also a small cafe at the castle which is a life saver if you are desperate for a drink! The coffees are espressos only however.
  • We are ally enjoyed the day here. The full experience starts with a 1h walk through a network of mining tunnels. Audio guides are available in English. This then exits to a hill which leads to a station to catch a train through a 1km tunnel for around 20 min which exits at a station at the foot of the hill up to the remains. A 20 min hike over very uneven terrain gets you to the medieval remains of the hilltop town a spot of lunch then half an hour hike back to the train to do it all in reverse. Really interesting and you get the experience of what it's like to be in the mine. Apen around 5h there so good value at 20 eur each adult to get in.
