Cala Mariolu, Baunei

#1 of 27 in Things to do in Baunei
Must see · Beach · Nature / Park
Accessible by sea, Cala Mariolu gets its white color from the tiny stones that make up the beach. If you prefer to journey to the beach by land, a hiking trail with recently added safety railing leads to the cove. A local guide will take you on the safest route. Diving, snorkeling, and trekking are popular activities. The difficulty of the terrain means there are few facilities, so bring enough water and food for the day. Cap off your active day with some downtime on the beach between the epic rocks of the white cove. See Cala Mariolu and all Baunei has to offer by arranging your trip with our Baunei driving holiday planner.

  • Was here a year ago and just had to post a review. The water is an incredible hue of blue and crystal clear. Honestly one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. Tip: time your arrival to when the sun is shining directly on the beach but as late in the afternoon as possible. Why? So the water has more time to warm and the pictures you'll be taking have plenty of natural lighting. I came late afternoon and it was already darkening.
  • Amazing beach with crystal clear water, we went there in cloudy weather after main season, so it was not crowded at all. We were hiking there from Pireddu and back, good shoes recommended (even though we went in sneakers and we survived, but would have been easier with proper shoes). It is quite tough hike, not for beginners, make sure to have enough food, water and time to come back. Going back took us for about 3 hours. But definitely worth going!
