The church is truly majestic thanks to its dominant position, the Romanesque-Gothic façade and the interior consists of five naves completely covered by frescoes and paintings. A church with ancient history (it is mentioned indirectly already in 1039) that starting from a simple nave oriented from east to West was gradually widened and transformed thanks to the richness that Baceno obtained from the trades: it is not a coincidence that on the façade is portrayed A huge St. Christopher (of 1542), patron of those merchants who connected the Duchy of Milan to Switzerland and that the place for the payment of duties was little under the church.
