Neptune's Grotto (Italian: Grotta di Nettuno; Catalan: Cova de Neptú) is a stalactite cave near the town of Alghero on the island of Sardinia, Italy. The cave was discovered by local fishermen in the 18th century and has since developed into a popular tourist attraction. Take the stairs!!! Unless you have medical condition preventing you. The views are so worth the climb. Also you can do it as many times as you want because it's only the cave visiting that requires... more »

We had to walk down as the boats were not operating due to rough seas. We had 2 kids (9 and 4) and a 75 yr old...they all did it in 15 min. :) well worth the visit to these 7 million year old caves!! Impressive!!

It's nice walk, but Neptune's Grotto is not that great, if you have seen many caves. Don't agree with "must see" statement. I recommend to start walk from the roundabout about 9:30 to catch tour at 10:00, to avoid sun and rush of tourists. It's also easier to park early. Don't forget to bring cash. The desk is in the entry of cave.
